The End of an Era...

Double Shot's last High School football game ever was Friday night. His school went up a division from 2A to 3A this year and everyone was saying they were going to have a terrible season... Not. At. All. In fact, their last game was the most exciting game I've ever been to in my life! And I've been to A LOT of football games! They won against the #3 team in the state. We spent the weekend on pins and needles waiting to see if they made it into the play offs. Sadly, they did not. Yesterday was a really hard day for our boy.
Well, and for us too. We couldn't understand how our 7 and 3 team didn't make it while a 6 and 4 team did. Mr. Macchiato, ever the Accountant, was able to put it all on a spreadsheet and figure out what went wrong and where. It came down to the strength of two of the teams we played. They weren't good teams (Mr. Macchiato called them "cupcake" teams) so those wins didn't come with as many points and the team with the 6 and 4 record played teams that came with more points.
What an amazing game to go out on though!!! It was WILD!!!

Rushing the field for their last game...
Now... on to wrestling... OY.

SoS is a huge factor in a legitimate league. Sad, but true.

Community college, send the boy, he can play there.

I know you are proud of your boy and the entire team and you every right, so shout on pal, prepare for college ball and keep the blankets and butt warmers handy!

When one door closes, another opens. Good luck to your son in whatever he endeavors to do.
