Holy Moly...

Remember back in August when I was planning on getting things organized around here and put myself back on a schedule?

It. Never. Happened.

Oy.

Life just gets crazy sometimes. You know? Throughout this time I have accomplished some things that I wanted to but... I tell ya... my office is an absolute HOLE. As is the spare bedroom. Good Lord. I do not want to tackle these jobs.

I really want to use my time wisely and will get back to that schedule at some point. Realistically, it won't be until after New Year's.

I really miss reading all y'all's blogs too.

So... I am going to work on those rooms. I'll post pictures tomorrow. Give myself some incentive to actually get somewhere with them. LOL! I want to have them done before Thanksgiving because we are having people over. Yes, I could just shut those doors but... I'd rather not.

What atrocity are you avoiding in your home? If you don't have any... I might not like you anymore.

hehehe....which room would you like to see? The boys bedrooms?....mmmm...probably not.
Our bedroom? You'd think I could keep it looking nice, but no....anything that has no other place to go, ends up there.....like the hundreds of magazines I brought home when we moved mom & dad into town.....or the laundry that I just can't keep up with, that spills over from the office....Oh, the office, let's not look in there right now!

Okay, do you still like me??!!

You can like me so much because I have several piles in several rooms that I can't seem to make go away. I don't know what to do with the stuff. Some mine, some husbands, some kids. We are putting down wood flooring in the living room, hallway, and one bedroom very soon. That will be motivation to clean and get rid of junk. I want to get a new leather couch too. I cleared out my living room the other day but I had to move the stuff back because the flooring appointment is not until after Dec. 6th. But I did make some progress there rearranging and getting rid of a few things. Right now I am cleaning out my buffet drawers. There is stuff in there 25 years old.

Here's what's on my plate right now - doing a BIG birthday cake for Grandson #2 tomorrow, making noodles to stash in the freezer for Thanksgiving, boiling the chicken for the chicken & noodles, making the pie crusts and putting them in the freezer, cleaning the house for Thanksgiving (have several coming over), then start baking/decorating for a Christmas Open House we're having on Dec 12. And making a quick trip to Oklahoma City to babysit for my son while his wife is out of town. Oh, and going with my daughter and Grandson #1 to have his Senior pictures taken (about 40 miles from here). I think that's about it. And I'd like to start wrapping Christmas presents but 1st I've got to sew part of what goes with them. It'll all get done I'm sure but it's stressful for me.

Y'all crack me up and I love you!

E... I am familiar with Fly Lady and have my own variation of it. LOL! Love the timer, eh? The problem is not knowing what to do with the stuff. LOL!

When you are finished could you come over here and help me lay some tile and maybe install a new faucet oh and clean out my closets. I'm a giver that way.

You are SO not going to like me.
I have no rooms needing a de-clutter or ANYTHING!

NO! Hold on, Griffin's room really could do with a lick of paint.... but ... *sigh* that's about it.

I hope you can get all yours done and dusted EVENTUALLY.

Oh, my word. What room in my house ISN'T an atrocity? My HOUSE is a blinkin' atrocity!

Let's see...

I avoid Precious Daughter's room, because walking in there means I'm going to break something underfoot.

Our bedroom is a wreck, because we gave our furniture to Mighty B. with the intention of buying new for ourselves, but a financial emergency preempted the purchase.

Our basement -- UGH! -- Our basement contains stuff from my deceased mother's house as well as stuff from George's aunt before she moved to Florida. It also holds every stitch of clothing my kids have worn since birth and most of the toys they played with.

The worst area of the basement is the laundry area. Hands down. I don't know which is worse, my overburdened clotheslines or my folding table that's buried beneath a heap of stuff yanked off the overladen clothesline every time I needed space.

I have a serious problem with putting stuff away, partly because there is no "away" for it to go.

I have some serious storage issues.

You had to ask.

O.M.G! I have planned so many things and got half way through and got sidetracked by some other pressing thing that has to be done.
I never end up finishing what I want to accomplish. Part of it is because I have to go to work after a two day weekend and I can never quite get my projects accomplished.
Oh well, there is always next weekend!

Good luck, Bean! I know you can do it! I am working on decluttering our house in preparation for Thanksgiving company. Managed to get half of the kitchen done yesterday. A never ending task . . .

Take your pick of rooms/areas in my house. I just can't seem to get and stay organized. My dining room table is covered in papers and books. We don't eat there. There are two spots to eat at the bar in our kitchen; one is covered in papers, so whoever needs to eat shoves the papers to the side. *sigh* I really should have married a rich man so I could have a housekeeper. :)
